Bottle Rocket Project
For my architectural design project, a fellow classmate and I created our own customized bottle rockets using white box learning templates and instructions. To create these bottle rockets, we used:
1. 2 Litter soda bottle
2.packing tape
3. the white box learning kit which includes the paper and cardboard for the fins and cones, the tube, and materials for the parachute.
4. Hot glue
5. scissors
To Create it with White Box Learning:
1. Printed out the personal templates
2. Cut out the templates for cone, and fins
3. After cutting, tape fins and measure the placement of fins
4.Then place the tube on the bottom of the bottle and tape the cone around the tube, taping them both together
5, After, create your parachute, tying the strings to the cut-out parachute then hot glue the plastic ball to the string where all strings tie together
6.Finally, after waiting for glue to dry, connect the end of the strings with hot glue it to the inside of the tube.
7. Prepare for Launch
For Launch we used:
1. Air compressor
2. Water rocket launcher
3. Measuring Cup
4. Water Supply
We prepared for Launch by setting up the air compressor not exceeding over 75 psi
1. Filled the rocket
2. Locked rocket in the launcher
3. Pressurized the rocket, reaching 50 psi
4. Pulled the launch string and blast off!
The instructions were simple and the rocket turned out as expected, we just need to experiment more to get better results. These are some pictures of my bottle rocket, and below is the launching video.
